Pastel colors or known as tints are just soft and delicate versions of colors. When you look at pastels you will find them so pretty and cute and they look so nice as well. Pastel colors are super common in bakeries and cafes as they give the eye a very calming and satisfying feeling. Some people love dressing their children in pastel colors as well. For example, imagine a cute baby girl in a pastel pink outfit, it will totally fill your heart, right?

In the fashion world, pastel colors can be seen everywhere. Especially on the runway, you will always see an element of pastel, maybe in the hair accessories or in the makeup, and during summer some outfits are completely pastel. In the 1950s after world war 2, there was a sense of calm in America, so many women would use pastel-colored outfits in their home fashion or for their daily looks. Even the automobile industry made cars in pastel colors. So that decade in America was all about pastels, the calm after the storm in other words.

Now let's go into the fashion aspect of pastel and how it has been included in today's fashion world. Even in our makeup classes, we encourage our students to try pastel-coloured looks.
1- Indian outfits
When you say Indian outfits the first thing that comes to my mind is a saree or a nice pretty Kurti. So let's talk about sarees, a couple of months back pastel colored sarees were in trend where you would see women wearing beautiful chiffon sarees with a nice sleeveless blouse in white and the saree would either be a pastel blue, pink, yellow, or green, and the best part of wearing pastel colored saree’s you can always pair them with a beautiful set of oxidized jewelry and it would complete the look so well. Now pastel colors kurtis look good in almost every design but my personal favorite is the chikan design, I feel like it looks the best in pastel colors and some white embroidery on it is the perfect match. Pastel colors are also in trend for brides as well. Many brides want calm and soft lehengas for their wedding day. Now in makeup artistry, it is important to know what look to do for such looks because the entire outfit is calm and soft.

2- Makeup
So makeup is all about balance, now when I say balance I mean your eye look has to be in balance with the lipstick shade and at the same time, it has to compliment the outfit. Pastel colors can be used in so many ways in makeup for example if the outfit is a plain monochrome look you can always do a fox eye wing liner and add a pop of pastel color in the inner corner and viola you have a nice subtle yet bold look. Now if you are just doing a makeup look my favorite look to do is doing a flawless skin-like base and then adding a good amount of blush with a pink-toned lip shade with gloss and for the eye, you can do a beautiful pastel-colored graphic liner and line the waterline with white kajal. So like I said earlier, knowing how to place your colors in a balanced way is very important and in our makeup academy, our makeup courses are designed in a way where your color theory will be so good that any color on any look will be possible.

3- Jewelry
Okay now I'm sure you have seen these cute cherry or banana earnings all over your Instagram feed. So this is where pastel color works out best because imagine this cute doughnut earning with pastel pink frosting, isn't it absolutely adorable? Now, this is how pastel colors are in western daily use jewelry. Among our Indian jewelry, have you seen that small oxidized jhumka with those pastel-colored beads that complete your Indian outfit so well? The best part about pastel colors is that they can be seen in bridal jewelry as well and they compliment the lehengas so well, so pastel colors can be added to gold, silver, and platinum jewelry and it will look good everywhere and anywhere.

4- hair
Now pastel-colored hair accessories give a very bubble-fun look. The best pastel-colored thing to ever exist would be those small butterfly clips. It looks so cute on everyone or even those colorful rubber bands. The quickest hairstyle to do with these accessories would be to first take out a middle parting, then leave a 2-finger gap from your forehead and then take a small section on each side of your parting and secure it with a small elastic band then once you have 2 mini ponytails on the top of your head leaving an inch of gap tie another rubber band. On the same pony now continue the process till you reach the end of the pony, if you used the pastel-colored elastic bands then your look is completed here if you didn't use those elastic bands then you can put the butterfly clips over the elastic bands, and now your cute Instagram worthy hairstyle is ready. Instead of a pony, you can even do the same hairstyle with braids. This is just one hairstyle. There are so many different hairstyles and hair updos that can be done with pastel colors, and our hair designing courses have so many looks for the same.
