As we all know makeup trends keep coming and going. The saying 'History repeats itself' is very true in the makeup world as trends that happened a decade ago will come back in style. If you see the makeup we did 5 years ago, it was all about a layering product with a nice heavy base with contour blush and highlight that was very visible and a nice cut crease, and a beautiful singer liner with a bold lip. Nowadays if you see the trends it is all natural and the no-makeup makeup looks, a concealer with some blush and lip tint with gloss, for the eyes it's all neutral brown shades with a nice simple winged liner.
There is one trend that never goes out of style and that is a smoky eye. Personally for me, one of the best makeup looks is the smokey. The beauty is that it looks good on almost everything western or Indian. In the 1920s when movies were in black and white, makeup artists needed a way to show the audience that there is makeup on the actress, and that's where they started doing the smokey eye look The term "smokey eye" refers to applying dark colors around your entire eye area including your lid. And since then it has never gone out of style. This look has been around for decades, and it remains just as popular today. The smoky eye is a versatile makeup technique that can be used to make your eyes stand out or create an illusion of larger eyes.

When you say kohl eyes, one name comes to mind and that is Kareena Kapoor Khan. It started with the bronzed tanned makeup look to the bold lower smashed lash line. Kareena Kapoor Khan stays up to trends and is known to start many makeup trends in Bollywood.
Let's talk about her look at the Dance India Dance pre-final (season 7) where she was seen in a beautiful black gown with silver accessories. Cute and bubbly, loved by all, one of the most iconic actresses in Bollywood. Kajol Devgan has been a part of many movies along with being the best person to cheer you up on a bad day. After a 3-year break, Kajol did a shoot with HELLO Magazine and was on the cover of their November issue 2013. For the cover shoot, she had done a smoky eye look wearing a beautiful black dress. The entire outfit perfectly fits Kajol's aura and personality. For her makeup a nice flawless base with a hint of bronze, a nude lips. To me this entire look is perfect. As a makeup academy we highlight the importance of doing makeup in such a way that it stands out but at the same time does not overpower the hair and outfit of the model.

Anushka Sharma rocks anything that she wears from a simple tracksuit at the airport to a beautiful lehenga. She has a knack for looking good in everything. One look of hers that left a mark in the fashion world was when she attended the Star Guild Awards in 2013. She left everyone speechless with her Indian diva look. She was seen walking the red carpet in a beautiful black and pink saree with a nice heavy border. For hair, they did a nice sleek low bun, for accessories they added a nice heavy jhumka which complimented the hair very well. Now let's talk about the makeup, they gave her a nice bronzed base with a bold smokey eye and for lips, they kept them very pink and neutral. Overall everything complimented each other so well and this is very important in makeup artistry.

She is known for her fun-loving and caring personality other than being one of the leading actresses in Bollywood. From being absolutely carefree and bold to being cute she does it all. Be it her gym fits or movie premiers Parineeti Chopra looks good everywhere. Her most regal look was when she attended her sister Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s wedding in Jodhpur wearing a beautiful lehenga giving her a royal princess look. Now since her outfit was already so heavy and full of work she kept her hair simple and for makeup, she did a black smokey eye which was too intense but complimented her entire look. Iconic and rocking every makeup trend that is there in the fashion world. Deepika is known for her airport looks and also for looking fabulous with no effort at all. This year at the Cannes festival Deepika experimented with different makeup and hair looks, killing each and everyone's look. As we read earlier she killed the red carpet with her bold red lip. Apart from the red lip, Deepika had a subtle brown smoky eye wearing an all-white saree with pearls. The best part of this look was the brown smokey eye, they chose brown keeping in mind the calmness of the white, and the brown smoky eye with a bronzed base and nude lip was an absolute delight to the eye. Known for being different and unique. Priyanka Chopra always does her best when it comes to fashion. From met gala’s to red carpets she has always walked with elegance and confidence making everyone admire and adore her even more. At the Tiffany, launch party PC did her own take on smokey eye, instead of wearing the usual black or brown smokey eye she went for a blue and gray smokey eye. She was seen in a silver one-piece sequinned dress with soft and simple jewelry. For makeup, her base was a flawless skin-like base and a silver-blue smoky eye with a little metallic simmer. The entire look as a whole looked fantastic keeping in mind the event and location of the event as well.
