Fashion week hair trends AUTUMN/WINTER 2022
Hair is one of the most important aspects of any makeup look, and it plays an important role in fashion week as well. Whether the look requires a 1970s-style blowout or a perm hair updo, it is important that it's done in a way where it is complimenting the makeup and outfit at the same time and not overpowering it.
Just as in makeup, we read earlier that makeup trends majorly start during fashion week the same applies to hair. Many trends for hair start from fashion week, and as a hairstyling and makeup academy, we keep up to date with all the trends and teach the same at our hair styling academy. Whether it's a polished sleek back look or a messy hair updo many tricks and tips are available to achieve them.
As we always say, it is so important to stay up to date with trends, especially in this industry. So as one of the leading hair makeup academies in Mumbai here are a few hairstyles that were done in the fashion week by the hairstylist and these are covered in our hairstyling course.
All Sleek All beauty
This year at the Tory Burch runway show, he went for the clean girl aesthetic which consists of a neat sleek back bun, some dewy makeup, and dainty jewelry on the runway. And of course, we can't forget the Bronx and Banco show where they made some bold statements with their sleek back low pony, and to me, I felt like they just said that all you need is a beautiful low pony, and any and every look is complete. And some hairstylists went for the sleek middle parting low pony, the aesthetic that is in trend ALWAYS. Say it with Accessories
Bows, scarves. Clips, anything, and everything can be an accessory in the fashion world. This year we had a few trends already like the colorful clips and we have the headbands that honestly never go out of style. This year Tom Ford had hairstyles where the only thing that was done for hair was accessories like crystals embellished clips to match the glitter and glamour they had. Head scarfs have always been in style and this year DIOR brought them back on the runway in black white and gold, on the other side Anna Sui also used head scarfs but all in pastel colors for a pop of color. But the highlight of the fashion show was during the Louis Vuitton show where the models had small versions on their bags as hair accessories and some models had pandas sitting on their braids. Knowing the importance of hair accessories is the most important thing in a hair styling course.
Hair braids have always been wanted.
Braids are your savior on a bad hair day and the best thing to do on a good hair day, you can never go wrong with braids in general. And this year at the fashion week there were so many different types of braids like twisted braids, textured braids, etc. The most famous trend of 2022 is the face-framing braids which are 2 braids in front of the face, Kendall Jenner and Haily Beiber wore these hairstyles while attending the fashion week and Altuzarra did these braids on models that were walking the ramp giving them a chic yet casual look. And DIOR once again did braids with ribbon within the braids to give a very neat girl aesthetic. And one of the most extravagant hairdos was done by the Giambattista Valli collections where the models walked the runway with double-sided ponytails and a braid down the middle separating the ponytails. There are so many more kinds of braids and different techniques which we teach in detail to our students at our hair academy.
Swishy swash bobs
You can never go wrong with a bob, it's cute and beautiful. This year the best bobs were displayed by Versace where they had many models in bobs with a deeper color in the roots of the hair which to me screams that we don't need to get our touch-up to rock a look. Beauty lies in everything. At the Carolina Herrera show, they went for the shoulder-length bobs styled with soft curls which by far is my personal favorite because the look screams chic with minimal effort. Bobs no doubt are the easiest to style but there are many tips and tricks to get the best-looking bob which is vital for a hair academy to have in their hair course.
Wavy hair doesn't care
Beachy waves that are big and bouncy, I'm sure, are everyone's personal favorite. It gives an elegant touch to any look. This year the beautiful beachy bouncy waves were done on stars like 2021’s Miss Universe, Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, and the beautiful Blake lively giving them glamour, elegance, and everything beautiful at the fashion week. When you say waves we have so many variations of the same and it is super important that a hairstylist knows how to achieve them without hesitation.
Statement-Making Ponytails
Refined, elegant, sophisticated, graceful, beautiful, and gorgeous are the words that you can use to describe a ponytail., and there are times when your ponytail will have all these elements in them as well. This year in the fashion week Sergio Hudson displayed a wide variety of ponytails on the ramp, but the look that stood out the most was the high-volume low ponies and middle parting sleek back hair and at the PatBo fashion show they bought back bows with low ponytails as well. Even when it comes to ponytails the main trick is how to decide to hold all the hair in one place secure for a long time without causing discomfort to your model and that is exactly what our hairstyling academy teaches in our hair courses.
